The Cape Haze Peninsula is on Florida’s Gulf Coast in western Charlotte County, midway between Tampa & Naples. It is bordered to the
east by the Myakka River; which flows into Charlotte Harbor, and to the west by the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico. At the
southwestern end of the peninsula, a causeway leads to Gasparilla Island and beautiful Boca Grande.
Located on the eastern section of the peninsula is South Gulf Cove, a beautiful, still growing, deed restricted, waterfront community, covering
about 9 square miles. With approximately 15,000 buildable lots, less than 10% are currently developed. It is convenient to all the area has to
offer, yet is still a “hidden gem”. There are approximately 55 miles of canals, all with access, via an automated lock system, to the Myakka
River, Charlotte Harbor, and Gulf of Mexico. The community also has a public boat ramp, providing water access to everyone. With current
prices, it has some of the most affordable waterfront property in the state of Florida.
Other than South Gulf Cove, there are several communities situated on the peninsula, all with close proximity to the water and beaches. On the
Gulf side there are several barrier islands just off the coast, from Manasota Key at the northern end to Gasparilla Island to the south.
The Cape Haze Peninsula is a perfect place to: *enjoy miles of white sandy beaches *go walking or cycling on the Cape Haze Pioneer Trail *play endless holes of golf *go hiking within environmentally protected preserves *explore pristine State parks *see native wildlife in their true surroundings *canoe or kayak through peaceful creeks *indulge in some of Florida’s best fishing and boating *relax and enjoy the real Florida!
